Location: Europe. It's a stunning album, Miles Smiles. Remains to be seen how interesting the off-cuts are, but heck, none of this material has been booted, so this is of course mandatory for any self-respecting Miles fan.

I'm a little confused as to how this is a "bootleg" though. Like DTK says, this is previously unreleased stuff, not an authorized version of an unauthorized release.

Doesn't really belong in this series, does it? The June Fillmore release didn't really belong either except for the bonus cuts from April. I prefer the releases that don't belong. I mean, I don't want them to be issued instead of so much as as well as, but I was hoping that the series would allow me to avoid the hassle of tracking down whatever Jazz Door or Moon or JMY or Hi Hat or Freedom Jazz Dance - The Miles Davis Quintet - Miles Smiles other grey-area pseudo-label titles are still missing from my collection.

But I guess that worrysome burden still rests on my weary shoulders. Location: Calgary, AB, Canada. On one hand, I love Miles Smiles, so I'll definitely be buying this and the session material should be amazing.

I don't personally own the Complete Studio Recordings of The Miles Davis Quintet — box, but doesn't this seem to have an overlapping concept to that? Like La Nueva Armada - Various - Viva La Punk 1978-1988 Vol.2 I was also hoping for Live in Japan, but we always have next year.

Interesting set, a bit like the ones the Mosaic label puts out with all those session and master takes, but I personally find them tough listening and programming stuff like this on my CD player Suspicious Minds - Various - Disneys Lilo & Stitch pretty tiresome.

Location: Munson Township, Ohio. A surprise and a welcome one. LonsonJul 17, Location: San Diego, CA. This is very interesting. I can't wait for this one; I think it will give us unprecedented insight into one of the most fruitful periods of Miles' career.

Exciting stuff, indeed. KipB likes this. Location: Pembroke, Ontario, Canada. Miles Smiles is one of my favorite albums of all time, so I am all over this. I could live without the master takes being on the set, but frankly will buy no matter what. I think I will play the album Freedom Jazz Dance - The Miles Davis Quintet - Miles Smiles in anticipation. This looks like an interesting set. I will buy it, but it isn't available yet for pre-order from amazon. KeithHJul 17, I don't think there's been an official press release. Location: Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.

I'll get this because I love the album, but it would've been great if they included some more live material. The first bootleg box is still the one I play the most. This seems more like Complete Miles Smiles Sessions than a bootleg box. ShowsOnJul 17, Explorer like this. Location: Ontario, Canada. This will be a must-buy for me! Looks thin on substance but a lot of people will be interested. That quintet is probably the most popular line up in today's market for Miles Davis recordings. I also vote for the Live in Japan 's box, and I'm not sure that there isn't even greater interest in that. In the meantime, I didn't even get the Newport box Lets Funk Tonight (Lets Celebrate Mix) - Blue Feather - Lets Funk Tonight (Lets Celebrate Mix) seemed like a hodgepodge but I hear has some truly outstanding music in it.
